The stability research reviewed by Antonio and colleagues found creatine breaks down meaningfully only when left sitting in solution long-term. Pre-mixing a week of doses is the actual mistake, not the morning latte (Antonio et al., 2021). Hot tea even dissolves the powder faster. One formulation note if you're using ours: the electrolyte blend has a light citrus profile, which plays well in smoothies and water but argues against your English breakfast. Do Energy Drinks Like C4 Contain Creatine?

Usually not in meaningful doses. Canned energy drinks are built around caffeine and flavor, and creatine is heavy, gritty, and unstable when stored in liquid for months; three reasons it rarely survives into a ready-to-drink can. Some pre-workout powders in the same brand families do include creatine forms, so the label is the only reliable answer.

A frequently cited 2009 study on rugby players found a 56 percent increase in DHT (dihydrotestosterone) after a 7-day loading phase, but total testosterone did not change significantly (van der Merwe et al., 2009). A 2025 12-week RCT specifically designed to test this question found no effect of creatine on testosterone, DHT, or DHT-to-testosterone ratio (JISSN, 2025). Creatine tablets and chews deliver the same active ingredient as powder, creatine monohydrate, so the compound itself works identically once it reaches your muscles. A single creatine tablet typically contains 750 mg to 1,000 mg, meaning you need 3 to 5 tablets to reach a standard 3 to 5 gram daily dose. Chews usually contain 1 to 1.5 grams each.
