Does Ashwagandha Increase Weight in Females?
Ashwagandha does not directly cause weight gain in women. A 2017 study (PMID: 27055824) linked it to better body-weight management under stress. But by lowering cortisol, it may normalize appetite in women whose stress was suppressing it, raising intake. It also supports thyroid function (PMID: 28829155). If you gain weight after starting, track intake—it is likely dietary, not a direct drug effect.
Does Ashwagandha Increase Penis Size?
No. No scientific evidence supports this claim. Ashwagandha contains no growth factors or vasodilators that could alter penile anatomy. While some studies show modest testosterone increases (PMID: 30854916), testosterone does not change adult genital size. It may improve libido through stress reduction, which some conflate with physical changes. Any such claim is unsubstantiated.
Does Ashwagandha Increase Estrogen Levels?
Current evidence does not show ashwagandha directly increasing estrogen. Ashwagandha primarily affects cortisol and may modestly increase testosterone in men (PMID: 30854916). In women, ashwagandha's hormonal effects are less studied. A 2012 study (PMID: 23439798) focused on cortisol reduction without measuring estrogen. Does Ashwagandha Increase Blood Flow?
Limited direct evidence exists. Ashwagandha is not a vasodilator like citrulline or nitric oxide. However, its stress-reducing effects may indirectly improve circulation by easing cortisol-mediated vasoconstriction. Some in vitro studies show withanolides have mild endothelial-relaxation properties, but no human trial has measured blood flow as a primary outcome. For blood flow, citrulline, beetroot extract, and regular exercise have stronger evidence.
